Fortnightly Fire Protection Checklist

To be completed by service provider no more than 2 weeks before each ship visit.

Section 1 - Pre Survey checks
1.1 Inform Flinders Ports signal tower of testing being carried out
1.2 Isolate Romteck unit
1.3 Check fire protection system for signs of damage, leakage or obstructions restricting access
1.4 Check fire water tank is full
1.5 Check foam tank stock is >60 minutes using sight glass
1.6 Check pump controllers are on, and not isolated or in alarm
1.7 Check valves are in their correct standby position

Section 2 - From the fixed Control Station in the Fire Control Room
2.1 Select "Local" control station and check green LED is illuminated
2.2 Switch on "Test Mode" an check yellow LED is illuminated
2.3 Press "Siren" push button and check sounder on pump house roof operates
2.4 Start the Left / Southern Monitor on water, check one has started and Left / Southern monitor is discharging water
2.5 Check flow is >4,200 L/min and pressure is >900 kPa
2.6 Check the joystick moves the Left monitor up, down, left and right
2.7 Check the fog-jet switch widens and narrows the Left monitor delivery
Section 5 - Post Survey
Defect Type: 1 - Critical Defect, 2 - Non Critical Defect, 3 - Non Conformance, 4 - Reccomendation
