Annual Foam system Performance survey

To be completed annually by suitably qualified persons.

The aim of the following procedures is to provide assurance that the foam systems are operational and ready for use. Test results shall be recorded electronically via the form below and stored online so that they may be accessed at any time. Maintenance work will not be considered complete until the form below has been successfully submitted and received by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Section 1 - Pre Survey checks
1.1 All previous defects and non-conformances attended to and recorded
1.2 Inform Flinders Ports signal tower and SAMFS of testing being carried out
1.3 Isolate Romteck unit
Section 2 - From the fixed control station in the fire control room
2.1 Select "Local" control station and ensure "Test Mode" is on
2.8 Turn both monitors off
2.9 Isolate V17, V20, V21, V22, V23 & V24, and switch off "Test Mode"
2.10 Start the Left monitor on foam and record the time for ROV1 & ROV3 to open fully
2.11 Start the Right monitor on foam and record the time for ROV2 & ROV4 to open fully
2.13 Turn off both monitors and check fire pumps have stopped
2.14 De-isolate V17, V20, V21, V22, V23 & V24
2.15 Check foam tank levels and fill tank if below 60 minute level
Section 3 - Post Survey
3.1 Check "Test Mode" is switched off and "Belly-Pack" is selected at fixed control station
3.2 Check valves are in their correct standby position (see wall chart)
3.3 Check fire pumps have stopped and low fuel alarm has not operated
If either low fuel alarm is active arrange for both fuel tanks to be filled
3.4 Advise SAMFS works are completed and de-isolate Romteck unit
Section 4 - Service Records
Defect Type: 1 - Critical Defect, 2 - Non-Critical Defect, 3 - Non-Conformance, 4 - Recommendation
