Monthly fire alarm survey

To be completed monthly by suitably qualified persons.

The aim of the following procedures is to provide assurance that the fire alarm systems are operational and ready for use. Test results shall be recorded electronically via the form below and stored online so that they may be accessed at any time. Maintenance work will not be considered complete until the form below has been successfully submitted and received by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Section 1 - Pre Survey Checks
1.1 All previous defects and non-conformances attended to and recorded
1.2 Inform SAMFS of works being carried out
1.3 Check for obstructions restricting access to MCPs and FIP
Section 2 - Romteck Signalling Tests
2.1 Simulate an alarm at FIP and check signal is received by SAMFS
2.2 Simulate a fault at FIP and check signal is received by SAMFS
2.3 Isolate Romteck and check signal is received by SAMFS
2.4 Reset FIP
2.5 Test aural indicator
Section 3 - Post Survey Procedure
3.1 Advise SAMFS works are completed and de-isolate Romteck unit
Section 4 - Service Records
Defect Type: 1 - Critical Defect, 2 - Non-Critical Defect, 3 - Non-Conformance, 4 - Recommendation
