It was the first project in SA to upgrade fire foam system in accordance with new PFAS policies were introduced by the South Australian EPA. The Client decided to change/clean the system from using AFFF to a fluorine-free foam concentrate in order to comply with the new policy.
Following the fire foam review, We supplied 30,000L Solberg Foam. Our brief was to decontaminate M berth foam delivery system including ~500m underground foam piping network at Adelaide.
The foam/water system was flushed with proper chemical solvents and applying innovated method of cleaning for the underground piping network. In addition, four foam proportioners ( balanced type) were adjusted for new foam physical properties.
