Fire Engineering Solutions (FES) was engaged to undertake a critical project involving the fire service of a Flammable Liquid Warehouse housing over 2000 Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). The primary focus of the project was to replace the existing foam system with a more efficient and compliant solution. The project stages encompassed an Engineering Review, Procurement, and Commissioning and Certification.
FES began by conducting a comprehensive Engineering Review, thoroughly assessing the warehouse’s fire service requirements. This step allowed us to identify the most suitable foam replacement solution tailored to the specific needs of the facility. Through meticulous planning and analysis, we developed a strategic approach to enhance the fire protection capabilities of the warehouse.
Procurement was a key phase of the project, during which FES ensured the acquisition of all necessary components. We sourced and supplied 2000-liter and 800-liter Elastic Foam Bladders, 3000-liter AR Foam Concentrate, as well as stainless steel pipes and fittings. These high-quality items were carefully selected to meet industry standards and regulations, guaranteeing optimal performance and durability.
Commissioning and Certification marked the final stages of the project. FES diligently oversaw the installation and proper functioning of the new foam system. By conducting rigorous testing and calibration procedures, we ensured that the system met the required certifications and complied with the relevant safety standards. The outcome was a DEHP-compliant fire foam system that effectively protected the Flammable Liquid Warehouse. Additionally, the new foam bladders were fully compliant with the latest foam standards, while the entire foam system achieved AS (Australian Standard) compliance for superior fire protection.
